Hunting is one of the oldest human traditions, steeped in a wide array of cultures and practices. We were drawn into it as adults looking for self sufficiency, delicious and adventurous foods, and a way to spend meaningful time outside in colder weather. At one point both of us (Caleb & Rebecca) have been vegetarians and look to seek out our foods in the most ethical way possible and hunting gives us a direct relationship to the animals we end up eating. We are trying to honor the practice and bring more people like us into hunting through artful presentation and mentorship as well as connect with lifelong hunters who have a wealth of knowlege to share. Below is a mix of content we've made recently either hunting in Iowa or on a recent elk hunting trip in Montana. Some of it is client work for brands like Tract Optics, Huntworth, Huntstand, IA DNR, Pheasants Forever, Edible Outdoors or Alps and some of it we just think looks cool.
It's the experiences around the hunt that burn bright in our minds. The fires and meals at camp, the landscapes, the glass of whiskey to take the edge off the soreness from a long hike. Some people collect antlers, we collect experiences. Don't get us wrong, a trophy is always cool but great stories are essential to building character.
The food is a huge draw for us. We also work a lot in the restaurant industry and want to carry that expertise about telling food stories into the hunting space. There's a whole host of game recipes we've been working on that we're working to bring to the world.
Who doesn't love solidly made tools? We wouldn't be able to do what we do with the ease and efficiency without them. We love product photography and finding ways to make it feel less like marketing and more like a good story.
